Sony announces the new PS5 Slim

Sony has revealed a new version of the PS5 that's a bit thinner and shorter than the original

PS5. It comes with a removable Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive, so you can choose how you want to play.

Sony's latest PS5 Slim brings all the great technology and features from the original PS5 into a smaller size. According to the Sony, the new PS5 is 30% smaller in volume and weighs 18% less than the older models. It has four separate cover panels, with the top part having a glossy finish, while the bottom stays matte.

Sony has made some changes to the PS5. There's now a bulge on the side for the disc drive, which can be taken off and replaced. Also, you'll find two slits on each side and dual USB-C ports in the front instead of the single USB-C and USB-A ports on the current PS5. Sony is including a horizontal stand with the new PS5 model, and they've introduced a separate vertical stand that works with all PS5 models, but you'll need to buy it for $29.99.

The PS5 Slim will be available in stores in November, and is priced at $499 for the Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive version and $449.99 for the PS5 Digital Edition.
