The latest addition to GoPro’s flagship action camera lineup has just been revealed, and at first glance, the highly anticipated Hero 12 Black appears to be a modest improvement over its predecessor, the Hero 11 Black.

The Hero 12 Black, may appear physically identical to its predecessor at first glance. However, it brings several noteworthy improvements to the table.

Firstly, GoPro has introduced HDR support for videos captured in both 5.3K and 4K resolutions, enhancing the overall video quality. Additionally, a new vertical capture mode allows for shooting photos and videos in a 9:16 aspect ratio, catering to the needs of various social media platforms. Moreover, Time Warp, Time Lapse, Night Effects, and Night Lapse modes are now available in an 8:7 aspect ratio.

One of the standout features of the Hero 12 Black is the upgraded Hyper Smooth 6.0 with AutoBoost, which claims to analyze up to four times more data for even more effective stabilization, ensuring smoother footage even in challenging conditions. The Hero 12 Black also supports GP Log + LUTS, offering enhanced color capabilities with 10-bit colors.

For photography enthusiasts, the Hero 12 Black introduces a new Interval Photo feature, allowing users to capture timed photos at intervals ranging from 0.5 seconds to 120 seconds, enabling creative and unique shooting possibilities.

Dual Channel Audio support:

The Hero 12 Black now features dual-channel audio support, a game-changer for content creators. This groundbreaking feature allows you to capture two audio tracks simultaneously, giving you the flexibility to record from an external microphone or the front mic of GoPro's Media Mod while seamlessly blending it with the in-camera audio. Wireless Audio Recording:

The company is introducing wireless audio recording functionality to the Hero 12 Black as well. Users now have the option to connect their Bluetooth headphones to the GoPro for audio recording, wireless voice commands, and to receive camera alerts audibly. The GoPro Hero 12 Black can seamlessly connect with up to four Bluetooth devices simultaneously.

Battery Enhancements:

GoPro's newest action camera comes with the 1,720mAh Enduro battery, which can double the run time of the Hero 11 Black. With an astonishing 70 minutes of 5.3K/60p video capture, an impressive 95 minutes at 5.3K/30p, and an astounding 155 minutes of uninterrupted full HD recording, the Hero 12 Black represents a remarkable leap in performance compared to its already outstanding predecessor, the Hero 11 Black.
